Main Indications

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, often due to an increase in intraocular pressure. This pressure buildup can be caused by an overproduction of aqueous humor or its inadequate drainage. Over time, it can lead to vision loss or even blindness if left untreated. It is often associated with aging and may not show noticeable symptoms until significant damage has occurred.

Strabismus

Commonly known as "crossed eyes," strabismus is a condition in which the eyes do not align properly. One or both eyes may turn inward, outward, upward, or downward. This condition often develops in childhood and may cause problems with depth perception. Treatment can involve glasses, exercises, or in some cases, surgery

Pterygium

Pterygium is a benign growth that develops on the clear tissue (conjunctiva) of the eye and can spread to the cornea. It often appears as a pinkish, triangular tissue, typically on the side of the eye closest to the nose. While the exact cause is unknown, it's commonly associated with excessive exposure to wind, sunlight, or sand. Symptoms may include irritation, redness, and in some cases, blurred vision if it encroaches on the cornea.

Corneal Ulcer

A corneal ulcer is an open sore on the cornea, the clear front surface of the eye. This can be caused by various factors, including infections, severe dry eyes, or an injury to the eye. Symptoms can include redness, severe pain, and decreased vision. It is a serious condition that requires prompt medical attention to prevent potential vision loss.

Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction

Nasolacrimal duct obstruction happens when the tear duct, which drains tears from the eye to the nose, is blocked or fails to open properly. This condition can result in excessive tearing or discharge from the eye, and sometimes eye inflammation. It is common in infants at birth but can also affect adults, often due to aging, infection, injury, or tumor.
